You never know what you may find!

It has been sometime that i have posted a blog. Busy with work and outside work too. But i have found time to hook inbetween.

This week my sister who loves to shop at thrift store came across this unfinished rug. It was from Rittermere crafts studio in Vineland, Ontario.

My sister picked it up for me, a new challenge is ahead. I'm not sure what to do with it, the person who started it has done amazing work on it so far. The wool strips are very narrow.

So I'm looking for some input on how to finish the rug.

do i stay with the original work that is done and continue with the thin strips of wool?

do i make it bigger by adding more patterns of the flowers?

Or make my own.

so many choices!!!

PLease if you have any ideas i would greatly appreciate your input.

Kathryn, I think it's totally up to you as to how you want to continue with this challenge. A few questions you might ask yourself: Do I like hooking with small cuts? Am I willing to put in the time it will take working with small cuts? What about the color palette -- pleasing to me or do I want something different? Is it possible to combine the small cuts with larger cuts in the rug? I don't know your experience with rug hooking and mean no offense to your skills but these questions came to mind. Good luck with the project no matter the path you choose.

I want to show you some little tips here on the Pom members site. Right now I am crazy about flower pots. These are very simple designs I am doing right now but it is their simplicity that is difficult to carry off. For this orange pot I used sexy jersey and highlighted it with rust slub.
